Blink-182 changed their name from Blink because an Irish band with the same name threatened legal action if they did not. (Are they suing too much?)
While the guys in Blink-182 may explain what 182 means in various interviews, they have admitted that it has no significance. Some of the lies that they tell about 182 are:
- ...Mark's ideal weight.
- ...the case number for when Blink-182 raped their neighbor's horse.
- ...the number of times Mark has masturbated (lube) to the paused image of Princess Leia in the Jabba slave girl outfit.
- ...the number of times Tom has masturbated (dryskin) to the image of the puppeteer dwarf inside Jabba's tail.
- ...the number of talk shows Scott watched this last summer involving club kids.
- Rancho Bernardo, the city Blink-182 hails from, contains the initials 'R' and 'B', which are the 18th and 2nd letters of the alphabet, respectively.
- Stolen from the movie Turk 182.
- If you add 1 and 8 together, you get 9. If you subtract 2 from 8, you get 6. Reverse them and you get 69.
- A story as told by Mark: "My grandfater was on a destroyer in WWII, and a Japanese zero kamakazi'd it, and it sank. My grandfather and five other men got to a liferaft whose number was 182. They survived at sea for ten days until they were rescued. They were the only ones who survived, becuase of the lifeboat, and they all got tattoos of the number 182 on their arms."
- The amount of times Al Pachino said the F word in Scarface.
The band decided to put "Ben Wah Balls," "Just About Done," and "Depends" in purple to indicate that they were "joke songs." The "real songs" were in a yellow/orange color.
No. And if you think Tom and Mark's middle names are both "What About My Needs?", you're really stupid.
You can fantasize, but you'll never get it if you don't have it already. Further, the guys in Blink-182 can't be held responsible for what happens to you if you ask them this question at a show.
Soon, I'm sure. Check the upcoming shows page -- if a show is on there, Blink-182 is playing it! And if a show is not on there, guess what? Either they're not playing it or we haven't been told about it...deal with it.
Go to a public bathroom and...oh, you meant like stickers and stuff, huh? If you send a self-address stamped envelope to the mailing address, you will receive stickers and other wacky stuff one day. Here's the address for you crazy kids...Blink 182
P.O. Box 500901
San Diego, CA 92150-0901
Sorry, you won't. Tom and Mark can't read music, so you're out of luck. Check some of the other Blink-182 pages for some unofficial tabs.
We'll make this one nice and simple: Mark is 25, Tom is 21, and Scott is 18. If you want to send a birthday card, send Mark one on March 25th, send Tom one on December 13th, and send Scott one sometime in May. Those aren't necessarily their birthdays -- that's just when they like to get cards.
UL stands for Unwritten Law and DHC stands for Dance Hall Crashers, two great bands that Josie likes, apparently.
Mark uses an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray Bass, which he had custom made from Ernie Ball, and he says, "I love it, obviously." The amp that he uses is a Mesa-Boogie 400+ bass head, and he uses an Ampeg 810e cabinet. Tom uses a Fender American Standard Stratocaster, with Dimarrrzio X2N pickups, into a Mesa-Boogie triple rectifier amp, and he uses two Mesa-Boogie 412 cabinets. Scott uses Pork Pie drums, and Zildjian cymbols.
No dough--no show.
Josie is not a real person. She's not one of Mark's, Tom's, or Scott's past or current girlfriends. The song is an example of what Mark likes in a chick. Always about Mark, isn't it?
You have a 66% chance of your favorite Blink-182 member being available. Tom is seeing a girl named Jen and Scott is seeing a girl named Jordan. Mark's available for long walks on the beach for only $19.99 a night. Don't delay, act now, supplies are running out!
OK, kids. Let's see if we can understand this...the girl is a freaking model hired to be in the video. She didn't know Mark or anyone from Blink-182 before the video and she does not know them now. If you really lust after her, check out the new Everclear video.
No. Mark did not live in San Diego when he was in high school. He went to Burroughs High School in Ridgecrest, California. Scott and Tom did go to Poway High School, though Scott went to Wooster High School in Reno, Nevada for a year.
